From the manual :

Spectral Pan:
This processor divides the spectrum in two bands (split frequency is defined by XOver
parameter) and restricts the panning to the upper frequency band. This avoids wasting
energy in the low band of the side channel and improves stereo perception under
headphones
Like in Boz' Pan Knob.

Get rid of the zipper noise when adjusting the knobs/sliders and make the movement of them more responsive (i.e. faster...they feel heavy and slow) and I will buy this.

thank you. You mean the noise if you change the Mono2stereo slider?
We will look at it.

There's zipper noise when adjusting 'spectral pan'/'bass focus'.

Any thoughts about incorporating the bottom half of this plugin (pan(law), spectral pan, bass focus) into CS-3301? It wouldn't need that much gui-space...

Thank you for this idea. We will include this in our considerations on the future of CS-3301.

@ TBProAudio I just downloaded and tried out ST1, but have a slight problem at least in Ableton Live. After I inserted and tweaked it on a track, it constantly tries to modulate a parameter called 'Zoom', which leads to constant changes to the project I am working on, even though I don't do anything (meaning Live asks if I want to save changes when I close it, and constantly marks it as changed). As soon as I disable ST1 it stops. It seems that the 'Zoom' parameter is constantly being modulated. Is this a known issue?

Thank you for this report:
Which OS and plugin format is it?
Which version of St1?

Does it happen as well if you disable the phase view of ST1?

We will analyse this asap.

Thank you.

Hi Hi . I am using the latest version of the plugin in VST3 format on Windows 10 x64. I could try disabling the phase view for sure and will let you know!

Hmm, how do you know it is the parameter zoom level causing the constant project change?

We just tested ST1 with Live 9: even opening the GUI causes project change.
But this is also true with C1 from Waves and other plugs...

I didn't have that before with other plugins (and I don't use Waves), except for the M4L LFO tool when constant changes of a parameter are desired .
I know because I can see it as a changed parameter (when in automation mode), and it's greyed out, meaning it's constantly changing despite me having not automated it.

What is the difference between Bass Focus and Spectral Pan? Is this correct...

Bass Focus = Side channel High Pass Filter position. Keep low frequencies mono below the crossover, pans frequencies above the crossover.
Spectral Pan = Dual-band split position. Pan occurs in the high band, low band is left in original stereo position.

Is this correct? So you would use one or the other, not both together?

Could you have a trumpet panned left before ST1, then add ST1 Spectral Pan to bring higher frequencies to the right but the lower frequencies will stay left (as before input)?

Bass Focus removes low frequencies from the side bands. If there aren't any nothing happens.

Spectral Pan restrict panning to higher frequencies. So a fluet will be panned, the bass not. Or for full range instrument like piano the lows stay where they are and the highs are panned.

You can use both together: just pan the highs with Spectral Pan and then focus the lows to the mid with Bass Focus.

Yes, this could work, but not tried it. Just download the demo. It is fully working except the demo audio drop every 90sec.

Tried and bought : ) This will be a goto mix insert tool for sure. 64-bit internal processing = 0% digititis. I love the "speed" control on the pan flip too, that's a neat little creative touch!
