  • all sample rates
  • demo version available

System Requirements:
  • Windows XP SP3 or newer

On your site, in the right column of products, there is SML2 instead of SLM2

Yes, it seems that there is a problem of our code signing certificate and Mac OS X. The download page (top) shows how to get around this problem.

So far it sounds pretty loud but comparing to other limiters (e.g. TB Barricade 3) I heard a clicky distortion with short attack times (around 5ms) which wasn't a good thing. Will need more time with it though and see how I like it.

Interesting. Could please post or PM me your SLM2 and TB 3 settings?
Would be nice. I guess you compare at equal IL level, right?

BTW: SLM2 attack parameter is not comparable to TB 3 attack. As the whole design is not comparable.
SLM2 attack let the transients through the limiter and "kills" them at clip stage

Testing this for five minutes and from what I can tell, it's really good. Have to
spend more time with it. Elevate has pretty much replaced all my other limiters.

Yes. I agree that this is very good. I also like Elevate but have ended up preferring Fabfilter Pro-L 2 on most of my projects. So far I prefer SML2 over the Pro-L 2 in a quick comparison. As you say, more time is required with it.

Lower midrange and bass seem clearer with SML2 without losing punch or power. I think the saturation is adding some crunchiness that can be perceived as added high frequency content. I wish there was a way to turn the saturation off, but if you mix into it, I don't think it will be a problem really.

Using the long look-ahead setting and completely de-linking the channels can give a very transparent and musical sound. I use fairly conservative amounts of limiting on the master buss, so it will be interesting to hear from others who tend to push things harder.

By the way, Mr. Hare I listened to a bunch of your tunes on your website The songwriting is quite good and so is the mixing/production. Impressive.

I like the smooth mode. That's a very nice addition that actually is . . . smoother Is there any chance you will add a switch so the saturation could be turned off? I really like the subtle saturation but some songs might work better without it.

Lets see what we can do with the Saturation switch.

If saturation is off, what is Drive knob for? Or is it grey (switched off with saturation off) than black coloured, for showing that there is no need to Drive when off? Or does it still produce something?

If sat is off, drive still increases gain fed into limiter.

Thanks for adding that option to turn off saturation. I think it makes the plug-in more versatile. I'm really enjoying the general sound of this limiter. Some songs benefit from the saturation while others don't.

I'm getting some very harsh spikes even without exceeding 0dBFS...

I thought at first that it is to do with zero attack/release but it happens anyway... (given low attack/release. not VERY low. but low)

Sure :

I tend to load Microtonic loop and start from there.

These loops can have an extreme dynamic ranges (like, peaks at -1.6dB and RMS at -20dB).

I gain stage the thing (try to go under 0dB. preferably at -3dB. but it might poke the 0dB barrier).

With the above loop and with 1.3 and the following settings :

Gain=0
Rel=0.01
Rel=0
Sat=0
Auto Rel=0
OS=4
Look A.=Default
Limit Mode=Default
Drive=1
Ch.Link=100
Ceiling= -12dB

Every once in a while I get spikes (every 5-10 loops).

With v1.2 I don't have this behavior (changing Att and Rel parameter doesn't seem to fix the problem). maybe some threshold is passed ? along with the new sat toggle ?

Gain staging the loop further with another [-]6dB fixes the problem.

Really nice limiter. I have the LA Limit along with the other usual limiter suspects...but like it was say above this one is really clear/clean sounding.
@TBProAudio any chance of adding ISP option?

Also which is the short look ahead...is it the switch up or down?

Thank you. This was the goal of the design

Hmm, we need to think about it, as it would need to add a lot of extra code...
We will add it to our todolist.

Fair enough. Thank you again for this great limiter.
