"There was a film capacitor on the main board that didn't have any solder on it. My tech resoldered it and made sure there were no other issues."

I'm going to give it a run for a while to see how I like the stock sound with some different tubes. I definitely like the idea of your upgrade and will contact you when I'm ready.
sounds good, and yep that will surely do it. I've seen similar things on both the mics and PSU's... I always go over everything with a solder 'reflow' as well as trimming down all the legs on leads... just for good practice, when I have them in here.
