OK so I had about 20 to 30 minutes to kill before session and I wanted to try to get on to slates website to try out some new plugs as well as grab the freebies. Well after 15 min of wasted time, hassle and website issues I'm now on TB– software.com downloading demos to excellent products like DP meter CS 3301 and looking forward to putting these through their paces in testing these out while I have some time. Talk about a easy download and install with no fuss or no hassle man I really appreciate that and so appreciative of that. Thank you for the dpMeter II plugin @TBProAudio

Edit *** did I mention I don't have to partition a drive just to try these plugs? I can use my stable legacy OS X and not worry about the installer worrying what version OS X I use. I'm on Lion still, and recently purchased plugs from UAD I can't use due to their installers wanting 10.11,10.10,10.9, so again happy camper and very good look for TB Pro Audio!

Just select plugin mode "EBU".
The blue interface indicates EBU R128 measurement mode.

Thanks for this nice feedback.
Studio SW is sometimes behind latest. Breaking backward compatibility is not an option for us :-)

The dpMeterII is awesome, I enjoy the readouts, metering system, and easy to look at gui. Also, the backwards compatibility is amazing, inlay a premium for UAD plugs and they are tied to the OS X.

The gain box above the readouts are a nightmare if you have passive speakers without a limiter in the chain and click to reset things or accidentally click on the gain. I usually always work with a limiter on my output to save monitors.

Why does the gain go 20-30 db over when clicking on that area? I can see the gain for gain staging but Trimming is used 95% of the time so maybe a +3db boost should be the ceiling? I clicked to reset it to zero or I thought and the next thing I know the gain was boosted +18db. IMO, many users are used to clicking readouts on or above/ below meters and that's what I did and almost died I'm talking about the gain box and how it corresponds to the meters off you click on the meters, it also lowers gain at times as well with an accidental mouse click!

I'm just sharing my feedback, I have been a little hesitant to put the dpMeterII on my master/ mixbus since and have been using it for other individual channels.

Can I use this meter to measure loudness of an advert for cinema? I need it to be 82 dBc in Leq(m). I see I can choose the Leq(m) curve, but RMS is dBFS in negative values only. Is there a way I can “convert” this units? I’ve never mixed any theatrical commercial before and need to do this now... I premixed few features for theater though and in my properly calibrated room the commercial sounds good, but I’d really like to meet the specs… No DMM nor even WLM. I got Insight, but no Leq(m) readouts there. Please help!

Which plugin type are you using?
VST2 comes with presets including TASA Leq(M).

In any case: you can use the following plugin settings:

Mode: RMS
Ref. Level: -108
Offset: On
RMS Mode: SUM
RMS WINDOW: 3000
W-Filter: LEQ (M)

This should give you the required readouts.
