It's beautiful. Don't change a thing.

I don't care, as long as it sounds like a Rhodes.

A Poll: To change the look of the Rhodes re-issue

My personal opinion.... Ugly as sin. I want them to make a Rhodes that looks just like the old ones. Period. I will gladly spend 2-3 grand on one then.

Maybe the Rhodes people will change it if enough people hate it.

I think the new one looks good - they've 'borrowed' a bit of the design from a few of the rare 'Space 1999' style Wurly's.

I'm a happy owner of a great Mk1 73. It sounds great, but looks wise - what the hell do you think is so special about them?

It's just a dull square black box.
The tolex gets scrappy real quick.
The fact that the cover will handle an extra keyboard on top is more by luck than judgement.
The legs will handle the weight of an extra keyboard on top, but they don't like it, and they are a pain to screw in.
They're very heavy.

There's loads of room for design improvements both aesthetically and practically.

If it looked like that and they made it in 1976 and then stopped after 2 years people would be craping themselves to get their hands on them.

They're totally sleek and they needed to go with a new, less industrial looking design to sell it at the price point they want. I just wonder how easily they're gonna get banged up? Then again, if it weighs that much less than my suitcase 73 I probably won't drop it as often....

I think the front panel and logo are ugly.

The front should have fender style dials and controls, and a black matt panel like the mk2 with screened seventy three logo on the front right also like the old ones.

The case shape is great but it needs carry handles and a more durable finish option.

Otherwise i think its great.

I believe they are offering a more durable finish for cheaper. Don't quote me on it though, I just recall reading it somewhere in the last few days.

Handles would be nice.
