visual cues?

I am wondering if you ever use visual cues, such as from a spectrum analyzer or phase meter, to hone in on what your ears are telling you?

Absolutely, all the time. It's like a pilot being instrument trained. I have a really great DK Spectrum analyzer which tells me what I'm hearing, and it's very important to how I work.

However, it's a hybrid approach, because sometimes the curves look terrible but it sounds great. The opposite is also true sometimes. Your ears are always the final test.
