What are your main mixing speakers?

I switch back and fourth between Westlake HR7's and passive DynAudio BM15's. Also use NS10's the check guitar/vocal balance.

by-tor 27th March 2006 08:01 PM

I have some custom made speakers and the Blue Sky Media Desk system.

petsematary 27th March 2006 08:31 PM

Proac Studio 1 mk II. Yamaha NS-10m, Genelec 1031, auratones. Depending on where I am working. I'm pretty familiar with all of these. I've also been playing with those small PMC AML? active guys lately. Unbelievable. They sound like mastering speakers. The few mixes that have come off of them have translated amazingly. They're beaucoup bucks though and I have to return them soon to their rightful owner (not me....boo).

drew 27th March 2006 09:04 PM

do you mean studio 100's? how do you know if they are mkII or not. i have a pair and i'm not sure which one's i've got.
thanks

only speakers I have are S3A's.

mwagener 27th March 2006 09:24 PM

S3A

StudioKing 27th March 2006 09:27 PM

Dynaudio M3, mainly for tracking, and S3A and NS10 For Mixing, although the m3s are good for mixing too.

ShamansDream 27th March 2006 09:29 PM

Mackie HR-824's and M-Audio BX5's for mixing.

A pair of 6 foot tall Martin Logans on a Denon 5 disk changer and M&K 200W sub tied to an 80hz frequency splitter. This is to evalute the Redbook CD's at all levels. Then my PC Jensen's with sub on the everyday PC played through media player and winamp for general listening displeasure.

Cassette in the van with a reasonable set of speakers. They crank fine.

Surround setup is M&K's on the midrange rad~shack home entertainment system.

Aso Bose cube system this is my common everymanns home system for checking mixes!

I have an earlier version of the Studio 100s called the Studio 1. Very similar. They look almost identical. I've actually replaced the woofers with studio 100 woofers so they're even closer now. If I remember, there might be a difference in the tweeters. In any case, they sound like ProAcs......
