TC Electronic - PolyTune for iPHone

Wow - They say it's a 1:1 port of the hardware.

Hey, it works!

I have the Peterson strobe app - worth the $10 for sure. But this one has a higher "cool" factor. Strumming the open strings and seeing what's in and what's out is wild.

It works great. Not sure why its free!?

World Studios 3rd June 2010 09:41 AM

Works very well, indeed. Their homepage says first 50 000 copies are free, or something...

Get it NOW!

JustinAiken 3rd June 2010 02:35 PM

Downloaded... this is will be great to try when the iRig cable comes out..

The Beatsmith 3rd June 2010 02:38 PM

yeah, you need to buy the cable, right? so, surely they're just doing this to generate a load of buzz and sell a ton of cables?

i did download it.

Just got it, can't wait to try it out.

Also works great sitting on top of a cabinet!

Jon Con 3rd June 2010 10:33 PM

got this today, worked with my acoustic using the mic and had no problems with it.

I don't have anything that this will run on yet, but I was able to grab it with iTunes.

Will I be able to transfer it to an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch after I get one?

I don't see why not.

If the PolyTune.ipa is in the:

itunes / itunes Music / Mobile Applications Folder

(or equivalent on PC)

you should be good to go.

Dammit! I went to download last night and I kept getting an error saying "being modified, try again later." This morning, I went to download and they upped it to $9.99! Bummer.

I also got the free version. Looks nice.

Chao 4th June 2010 08:18 PM

It works great on my iPhone (2nd generation?). I tested it with a classical guitar which is not that loud.

js1 5th June 2010 02:56 AM

I used it to tune my electric - that wasn't plugged in. 3GS phone.

And several of my friends, too. I think they assumed it would remain free for longer.

Barilla 5th June 2010 05:42 PM

Does it work with the iPhone 4?

It says:

"PolyTune™ for iPhone works with the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3Gs, iPod touch and iPad."

TC Electronic | PolyTune iPhone App

I've got the hardware, it sure is fun. I only use the strobe mode though...

KarmaPolice 29th December 2010 01:34 PM

Bought it for 0.99$ for my ipod touch 4. Didn´t expect much, but: With the build in mic (being on the backside of the ipod!) this thing works perfect for Acoustic guitar!!! I can´t believe how

good it is, really. Even without the poly thing this is the best tuner I´ve ever used (I never used high end stuff like peterson, though). Poly mode works very well too. Highly recommended (at any price)!
