CALREC M SERIES???

Does any one out there have any feed back on Calrec IC based boards??? I'm still shopping around for a console and found this nice Calrec in the U.K.. It's the 'M' series thats posted at funky-junk.co.uk From what I can gather the boards in good shape and is built like a tank!! My other options at this stage seems to be a Trident 80B.. Any comparisons???
Thanks for any help/advice anyone can give. Cheers.

I have used both models and I liked the Calrec much better. Many people like the Tridents but I am not one of them. The Calrec at Funky Junk certainly looks lovely with those Painton faders. thumbsup

Trident 80Bs

Just checked one out and feel for under $20k it may be the best sounding IC console I have heard, however, I have never heard a Calrec M Series. I have only heard second hand they sound very good.

Also at that price range, I donot feel there is much to choose from either (Neotek, Amek, etc.).

The 80B had a warm sound (almost boarding on dark). Nice sounding signal path. Nice features and inputs. Feel that it is best rock applications.

Hope that helps.

Calrec M

Hey good Doctor,

How are you enjoying your Calrec? (presuming you still have it)

I have been involved with a few Calrecs now as a maintenance tech and love them.
