You guise like computerz?

Sup dudes. I got a new computer. It's awesome.

i5, media series intel board
antec psu and antec solo case w/ tricool fan
xfx 9800gt
4gb RAM
genuine dvd player (actually real. No, srsly) (...srsly...)

First system I ever builded. Bought an effing ide dvd drive at first cause how was I supposed to know? Clearly that's been handled.

ANyway... Point is, besides shameless bragging, if you wanted to know if it was a good system (you're interested in something similar) IT IS.

Build it yourself or check the new dell studio xps line for the shelved ver.

THen have a dream about stealing softwarez. Make music and have the kids steal your music. Ahh karma.

I'm not a big fan of boards where the PCIe x16 slot is in the first space.... I thought all manufacturers figured that out and put a PCIe x1 first and THEN a PCIex16 or else just skip that first spot altogether... Video card could possibly get into a fight with DIMM slots... more specifically the outer clips...
Other than that a decent setup

this smells of an attempted e-peen waving. in which case it's too small guy. you've got a 5 incher there, sure your girlfriend says it's huge and all but she's just being kind. kfhkh if you want to brag go get a dualie i7 or quad socket phenom based opteron with 16 GB or more of ram then come back and brag.

at least add a bunch of >TB sized hard drives and then post about your wicked storage server or something that would raise the e-peen score a lot.

or post some tasty pics of the custom modded case you spent 2 months on.

give us something at least to be envious of...

Maybe there should be a thread about humorous stories or tips related to system building. From all the bloody knuckles I had gotten when I did my first one, I now know to use gloves. And my system wasn't particularly sharp on the inside either. And the agony of front panel plugs...so tiny and so difficult to arrange neatly in a small area. WHY AREN'T THESE STANDARDIZED?

That said, the relief I felt when I got the Mugen II cooler (it's honking huge) to fit in my case (an NZXT Apollo) was indescribable.

It's like all of the sudden "gamerz" found our hangout spot and now they want to record too because they notice we both share a love for high end computers... It's very bizarre.
