JLM Baby Animal 4 kit inbound!

After a couple years of deliberating and squirrelling money away, I've done it.

I placed the order today, so I should see the kit arrive over Thanksgiving weekend here in the states. Very exciting for me!

I went for the straight ahead JLM 14 input transformers with the OPA2604 opamps on all channels.

Hey congrats

I just this week, built my first DIY project...a JLM BA2 Kit with the DI's.

I used a JLM 1/4 input tranny, and the 99V opamp....

The build went smooth...Joe Malone was fantastic with any questions I had...make sure to check out the forum at the company website...

The sound of the pre is stellar...I couldnt be happier.

cheers

The kit arrived today, about 3 days ahead of schedule!

It's packed VERY nicely. The rack case is high quality, and the face plate is lasered and pre-drilled. I was expecting to have to drill it myself. Joe keeps getting more and more features and service into this thing!

Each part of the kit is in its own bag: the DI kits are in their own separate bags with all necessary components to make them. The BAs are in their own bags with all parts, etc.

The unit ships quite light and compact: all the baggies are wrapped in bubble wrap and put inside the rack case with the top screwed back on. Very nice.

I'll likely begin soldering tonight. I might take some photos before I start and along the way to document the process, if I can remember.
