So I'm gonna start a new genre.

It's called Trance and Bass lol. DnB + Trance.

Imogen Heap - Headlock ( Melo Remix v3).mp3

kasprouch 20th November 2009 11:31 AM

from that track (very nice indeed kfhkh), sounds like you got beat to it...

jarrydn 20th November 2009 12:33 PM

I know of a few producers who have been doing the whole Trance and DnB thing for a while now :)

msl 20th November 2009 01:23 PM

Yep. Pretty much everything has been combined with trance at this point.

.

Barfunkel 20th November 2009 01:38 PM

There was lots of trance-y DnB released 5+ years ago.

mattyc 20th November 2009 02:08 PM

i had 3 tunes on a mixmag cover CD called "trance and bass", mixed by john b, released in 2002.

by all means go ahead and make tunes like that but you wont be starting a new genre im afraid jkthtyrt

GeorgeHayduke 20th November 2009 02:10 PM

wafflesomd 20th November 2009 07:08 PM

I wasn't being entirely serious. I've been listening to DnB for about 10 years. I just wanted to make a thread that didnt' say "Hey listen to my track".

mullet 20th November 2009 07:09 PM

I'm going to combine techno and heavy metal

I have a few ideas:

8-bit ambient country
Rock and troll (rock music with petty insulting lyrics)
2 Detuned oscs
Progressive minimal country
Breakbeat jazz
Electronic dance nonmusic
RDM (have a guess at what this one means)
12-tone trance

What kind of clothing style do I need to fully subscribe to this genre?

snake hiss hi-hat, huh never thought of that before

modistylee 20th November 2009 11:05 PM

Yes agreed, trance n bass is ooold news.

How about DnB + bluegrass??

Most banjo riffs are in the upper bmp register, so I think this would work.
The challenge would be getting it to sound non-cheddar.

Run it through an amp sim.

New idea for a genre: just slap a flanger over the 2-bus. Don't know what we'll call this genre though.

Pip 21st November 2009 12:04 AM
