Software RAID 1 on Mac Pro Degraded.. What to do?!?!?!
Title says it all. I have a mirrored RAID 1 array in my mac pro. I used Apple's Disk Utility's Software Raid. It's 2 1TB Seagates (the newer ones 7200.12). It says the array is degraded. I have no idea what to do it doesn't give me an option to rebuild or repair. Any help or suggestions?!?!?! One of the HD's may be bad and need to be RMA'd but how do i go about figuring out which one it is and replacing it w/ no data loss!?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Do you see both drives in disk utility? If they both appear, I'd copy my data to a 3rd drive, then do a low level format on the 2 in the raid you have. After formatting, I'd use a 3rd party utility to check the integrity of both drives.

Yes both drives are visible in Disk Utility.
So i need to buy a new 1 TB drive to backup before doing anything??? I don't have a 1 TB internal or external laying around....

1GB? Back it up to a DVD.
