Suggestions for handing lots of inputs for synth setup/DAW

I'm in the process of upgrading my studio and I want to mix most of the tracks in Logic or DP.

My current configuration consists of a MOTU Audiowire based 2408mkIII, 24 I/O and 8pre. This is being replaced with RME MADI & AES configuration.

The configuration has to be able to support 36 synth inputs. The problem is that I don't want to submix my synths with a summing mixer or other line-level mixer.

What is the best sounding unit with at least 24 inputs @ 96k given the above requirements? What is being used today for these larger synth/midi setups?

Being considered is the RME M-32AD, Euphonix AM713, and the SSL Alpha Link SX to handle my 36 synth inputs. I'd need more than 1 of each...

Sound quality/sonic fidelity are the most important aspect.

Get a good line driver for your synths. Far more important than what converter you use.

Who makes a multi-channel line driver?

And then which A/D--> MADI?
