Moog Liberation

The Moog Liberation has quite unique features. Is it better.... featurewize then the newer Roland offering?

Roland AX-synth

I think I would rather carry the AX around. The Liberation is definitely a
dinosaur and weighs a ton. I missed out on one many years ago for $400 in
a hock shop. Now I am kind of glad because it probably would kill my back now.

But then again the sound is pretty similar to the MG-1 so you
are not missing much unless you like those diddly little sliders and the fairly limited
pallete. Some people go bonkers over the MG-1 for some reason. I always
felt that the Liberation was one of those attempts to repackage something
as many different ways as it can be sliced.

Actually though it makes a great lead synth and you can really whammy
with the ribbon controller.
