Brent averill stereo comp.....any one used this?

I'll be borrowing one of these with the option to buy pretty low....anyone have experience with this on the two bus or other?

They're really great.

On the 2 buss that really fatten it all up and glue the track together.

Also try them on the kick and snare.

Y a gotta try fast recovery times to make it pump.

It's not as versatile as a distressor but much fatter.

If i had the bucks I'd take 4.

Good luck.

If its the 2254A/E Brent Averill I have one.

I don't use it on the mixbuss though. Mainly on thin lead vocals that need some weight(especially pop sopranos) and on strings(when you want that rock and roll, mellotron sound).

It is a very colored compressor, the word that comes to mind is "chocolate".

It is not as versatile as a 32264a or a mixbuss piece like a 33609.

It either works or its too much.
