Vintech Dual 72 mod?

I've have a Vintech Dual 72 that is a couple of years old. I recall reading (maybe here) that there is a simple mod of adding a resistor somewhere to increase the hi end response and that maybe they even started doing this as part of production. Any one here know about this?

I haven't been able to find any references to this now that I am actually considering doing it. Perhaps I imagined the whole thing.

Can anyone give me the details of how to do it and how much of an effect it has?

Thanks.

I believe what you are referring to is the loading of the transformer. The original Vintech 72's did not properly load the output transformer like a Neve 1272, and didn't sound very "Neve-like". I think after Geoff Tanner pointed out the error, they began making them with the proper loading of the transformer. I would shoot Dallas Upton an email at Vintech, so he can give you instructions on removing or installing the proper cap/ resistor depending on which run of Dual 72 you have.
