Masterlink ML- 9600

Hello-
I am going to purchase one of these units tomorrow. How should I hook it up to my Digidesign 192, Analog, AES/EBU or SPIDIF. I'm looking for the best quality in sound. Any tips would be apreciated.

Best wishes

Avoid conversion. That will be your cleanest path. kfhkh
IMO the converters on the Masterlink are acceptable but there is no point in it. It's a good box.

Thanks Rodney so do you mean AES/EBU would be the choice.

Thanks

AES/EBU or SPIDIF.

If you can avoid D/A or A/D conversion then you should. I am not sure which one of those is 'better' but they are both available.

Good luck

I guess I would like to know how to hook up the Masterlink to my 192. If I choose AES/EBU (which I will) do i just connect the in/out of the AES/EBU or do I have to go out analog as well from the Masterlink to monitor it?

Thank you

Kent-
Thank you for your time!!!
I am running a PT HD 3 rig all in the box monitoring through a Mackie Big Knob.
I have my Adam P-11's/ Sub-P running through the Big Knob. I would like to keep doing it this way. If I just hook up the AES/EBU cables both in/out from Masterlink to 192 will I be able to monitor the same way I'm doing it now or will I have to run analog outs from Masterlink into Big Knob to hear.

Thank you I apreciate your time and help
