Another MArshall upgrade question RE wiring speakers.

I have this old JMP 2x12 combo in which the speaker cable coming from the speakers broke. I have a nice thick monster speaker cable which I want to splice and replace the old cable. My question is how will I know which strand is positive and negative. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks!!

If your wiring from scratch it doesn't matter. Pick one to be the negative and keep it the same through the whole cab. Usually the black strand is the negative and white or red is used for the positive.

There's only one place to attach the cable. The rest of the cab is wired up so I don't have to touch it. Just the cable coming from the amp to the speaker broke. Its on the left speaker (if looking from the back). I guess this makes it eaisier, but I'm still not sure. I guess I'll try it one way and if it sounds weird or wrong, I'll try it the other way. There's only two ways it can go. Thanks for the reply!!!!

So the cable between the speakers is still intact? What colors are used for that? It should be easy to figure out. Oh, and on zip cable the square side is the neg.
