R.I.P.
sad news indeed :-(( a favourite of mine as well .. |
RIP
Loved his 'mid-century' modernist stuff, Britten and Werner-Henze. Saw him in Town Hall NYC in the 80s |
:deth:yingyang:deth: Sad to hear of his passing away, R.I.P. Julian Bream. Some very interesting stories out there told by acquaintances of this lively spirit and iconic musician/ human being.

I was lucky to see Julian Bream in my teens. Not sure how much I could absorb at that time. So many amazing tones coming out of an old nylon string. A modern and different take on what was possible with the instrument. Saw Andre Segovia a year before...or after..Both amazing but so opposite in their style

An old Hauser nylon string cooge

A giant and an icon. Self starter, self taught.
An innovator and taste maker. Very sad news. |
