Hi, is there something I can put after the Roland mx1 and before the computer sound card that will make things sound less digital.

Kind of upper low end theory but If you have a bit more to spend I would say get a couple of channels of tube compression with transformers like the Klark 2a or the Golden Age Comp2a

Thanks, I haven’t much room though I’d be better off with a stereo unit

You might want to consider the stereo rack version of the ART MP Tube that The 6th Beatle mentioned which was called the Dual Leveler or the ART VLA stereo limiter which isn't quite as dirt cheap but still not expensive, a bit nicer, and still in production.
