New ambient soundscape 104hp feedback

Does this setup make sense? Anything you would change etc
My plan is to try and make evolving chord soundscapes.
I already have Maths + Braids

Looks pretty nice, I cant really comment other than on maths, as I don't have a single mutable or intellijel module.
Maths is cool and all, but probably not the best use of space there, but you already have it so.

If i were you i would get some more modulation and mixers/vca’s

connorconnor 30th June 2020 04:37 PM

What would you recommend getting rid of? And any modulation/mixer/vca that you can recommend?

Brain fairy 30th June 2020 05:46 PM

That is very personal,
but with your amount of mod inputs in the rings clouds braids you can use a lot of modulation and attenuator/mixer/vca’s.
Just go with what you want and you will find out what you need.

Maybe a nice reverb?

The 4ms Ensemble Oscillator is tremendous. The one problem with MI is that it sounds so signature. With a rack that is 90% MI I think it will be hard to get away from all the other ambient soundscapes people are making with Clouds etc..

I'm pretty set on Math + Braids + Clouds, Tides seems to offer me more options then Rings but maybe it would be good to get rid of both and introduce more options within the system, I thought I would use Tides as modulator but I'm open to getting rid of Tides/Rings for some other modules.

A possible second option?

Any thoughts

Do you have a stereo filter in there?

Much more interesting to me.

Rings is... nice. It's also VERY easy to identify, and represents a more limited soundscape than 4ms ENOS. I'm also annoyed when tuning Rings, and have found myself using it less and less over the years. These days, I rarely even consider it for a patch.

If you end up pursuing Clouds or Rings, consider looking for the micro versions to save yourself some space in the rack.
