Also, there's a huge ad for Toontrack that's showing up here about something great coming tomorrow (May 19, 2020). I wonder if they're related?

I’m dying in anticipation.....the Microfreak was a pleasant surprise. It punched above its weight class and constantly provides an option in most my mixes. Drumbrute impact is another solid device although there’s a bunch of haters and crybabies out there who wanted the 808 sound and blamed the kick and snare. If the new product is anything like the Microfreak, count me in and take my money.

Probably the 5 octave Matrixbrute-like synth that was being teased not too long ago.

Let me find that thread again.

The Toontrack plugin is EZBass, which is released tomorrow

If that's really the case, I'm going to die. I just spent all my gear budget this weekend!

I was thinking some sort of hardware controller from Arturia to work with Toontrack's software. Oh well, there goes that conspiracy theory. :)

This the thread with the images From Kenny Larkin's instagram:
8 Voice Matrixbrute anybody?

You need 5 octaves to Jump.

edit: could also just be a software OB emu to Jump.

my god its a drumfreak !!

hawkinsnikwah 18th May 2020 10:16 PM

The clock dial is an Oberheim knob. Maybe the jump reference is to an OB.

kurzweil 18th May 2020 10:25 PM

Jump = OBXa / OBX filter in a Poly-Brute??

alexkywalker 19th May 2020 12:33 AM

Please be a modular drum machine

Think a sort of Vermona DRM1 MKIII, with guts made by Arturia.

Growl? Is it going to do one better than a Rhythm Wolf that only has Howl?

Unless it's the "Arturia Jupiter 8" (real version), with 100% identical sound, build and materials (And even Roland Logos) as the original, but for half the price, then I'm not interested in any Arturia stuff. ;)

It’s an egg timer. It’s clearly an omelet pan.

Percivale 19th May 2020 04:02 AM

What could it be.. MiniFreak?

PuggaMahone 19th May 2020 04:07 AM

A Brute Spice Dice-Metalizer, please, with those touchplate keys, but more of them, more of everything. I... want... MORE!

Arturia: The OB V, unlike the SEM V and Matrix-12 V, has the most accurate digital Jump preset ever.

Old Man: WHAT DID HE SAY?

He said it's a PolyBrute.

Old Man: What? No... Pauly's such a sweet kid.

I said, it's a SUPERFREAK. S-U-P-E-R F-R-E-A-K!!

Old Man: Now, that's music! So, why was that mini-freak going on about his OB V?

clusterchord 19th May 2020 04:10 AM

dunno what it is, and i am sure its not what i'd really like..

a 8 voice true poly MicroFreak... meaning 8 svf filters, 8 pairs of envelopes etc. its a wonderful sound, full of animation, flexibility of the oscillator, lovely filter, snappy envs etc. imo it would be absolutely killer in poly incarnation, and sit firmly on number one modern hybrid spot for me - i'd simply have to buy it (that is, after the arturia bugs get sorted out, meaning next year this time heppy)

hcppp 19th May 2020 04:22 AM

Maybe he meant Morris the Cat, from the 9 Lives Cat food commercials.
At least, there might be morris to the story than he is letting on.

Yep, some sort of deal that builds on the MicroFreak. Some of the raw tones coming out of that thing that have been posted recently are excellent in the sort of manner where even the simplest sounds are great.

zerocrossing 19th May 2020 05:43 AM

I’d buy a Megafreak from them, with 8 voices and some more modulation. Throw in an analog osc for good measure. I’d buy an Oberheim emulation from them too, if it was up to the quality of their last crop of plugins. Hell, I’d buy a MiniMatrixBrute from them if they computerized the mod matrix and made a desktop version.

Nice187 19th May 2020 05:45 AM

Lots of knobs in the background…

v00d00ppl 19th May 2020 05:55 AM

I just paid off all my credit cards.

V collection 8 with the Jupiter sound engine and prophet 5 engine reworked too.

You may get your wish. If the rumors are true and not idle speculation by a bunch of stoned hipsters living in their parents basement, we might all get the dream synth we want. Arturia please don’t let us down. I’ll pay good money for a synth that checks off all the boxes. You know what they are. You know what the people want. Give us some fanboy service and a mind blowing synth to help navigate these difficult times. Make Christmas come early this year.
