Sonar X3 to Cakewalk by Bandlab
Has anyone gone from Sonar X3 Producer to the free Cakewalk by Bandlab? Do you lose any features? Do your X3 files load seamlessly? A little nervous about making the switch!

Looks like not much action here. You should join the cakewalk form and you would have had 30 reply’s right away. Anyway yes almost every Sonar user is now using cakewalk by bandlab (CbB) there is vast improvements over x3. Keep your older version installed and all the stuff you got with it will port over to CbB. And it is backwards compatible like all versions have always been.

edaub1, you really don't have much to lose by running Cakewalk by Bandlab "IF"... I went from X1 to X2 to X3 to Platinum to Cakewalk and still keep all of those on my SSD. It is essential that you do not uninstall your versions of Sonar that were bundled with extra features, as those features would be lost. So, I don't recommend you "switch" to Cakewalk by Bandlab, but download it and install it alongside your Sonar X3. You can then use either of them at will.

sdwest has got the plan. DO NOT uninstall your old version. It should stay in working order. Go ahead and install the new CW/BL version in a different location.

(You may have to adjust some of your folder locations from the defaults.)
