Atomic SixTen Studio Monitors - who is using them?

1 Attachment(s)
They make the power supply most SSL owners use and love.
But I found today they make a full range compact studio monitor
Called the SixTen
Would love feedback from any owners / users.
Thanks in advance.

I have heard them and they are stupid good and my pick at 5K over anything out there.....

They are only beaten by the Dutch and Dutch 8C at 12.5 K

I can't afford them, but I've known Norm for a long time and he is a good dude and great engineer. I would trust that these are about as well-designed and built as humanly possible.

Don’t know if ‘adorable’ is praise or insult...but they look like mini-604E studio monitor cabinets.

I own a pair and think they’re great.

I was very impressed by this speaker and feel like its at the top of its price class.

High praise. Wonder what their 16K monitors sound like.

They sound f!cking massive and detailed ....
Norm is a genius designer and I may have to get a set because I am a slut....

I haven't heard these yet, but I have a few friends that I trust here in Nashville that say they are the best they've heard.

This page lists most the SixTen users.

At least one guy in Nashville has the giant Atomics, and they sound OUTRAGEOUS. The low end goes to the center of the earth.

I’ve heard the smaller ones in other studios. They’re nice!

Does anyone know what is the frequency range of SixTen? Since they are passive, do they come with amp too?

Thanks.

They come with an amp. Not sure what the frequency response is. I’m sure if you email Norman if you’re curious.

They reproduced 30hz pretty solid at the demo I heard...

I will definitely email Norman (hope he is not Norman from Bates Motel)
Thanks Jason,

Greetings from Queens.

Nomatic.. what we’re your thoughts vs Dutch n Dutch ?

nomatic 10th June 2019 02:30 PM

The Dutch & Dutch have the advantage of cardioid response and active room matching so I give them the upper hand at over twice the price.
This being said the Atomics are truly great and I could easily work on them
and may get a Pair anyway.

I just got a pair of SixTens. Still working through my thoughts on them and will update this thread once I spend more time with them. FYI, I’m coming from Amphion One15’s.

Right off the bat, the SixTens are HEAVY. I’m a fit dude and they make me grunt. Also, they have the weight in sound to match. Really solid low end. They make the little One15’s look dainty in comparison.
