Choosing the right vocal take

I made an audio track. I recorded a vocal. I recorded another vocal over it. How do I take the best bits of each take?

Should I create a second audio track, move the 2nd take to that track, and compare the two takes by comparing the two tracks? Or is there a better way?

If in Live 10, group them. If you can solve a problem by duplicating, most of the times this is the correct action. It's my belief that a native solution for "comping" will come this year. Or the next.
