Post your Candy!

For the past few months I've taken a huge liking to Haribo Sour Gold-Bears. I believe it's become one of my favorite candies.

I also love chocolate and the Ghirardelli brand is one of my favorites.

So, what candy does everyone like to eat? gooof

I grew up on Kinder Surprise eggs, which are actually ILLEGAL in the USA (people bringing them from Canada for their relatives in the US have had them confiscated and been fined thousands of dollars per egg (they are illegal in the US because you can't have an inedible substance inside food):
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...rprise_Egg.jpg

While I still like the occasional toy, I much prefer to get that amazing chocolate from their bars:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Schokolade.jpg

Oh, and it's not the English word "kind-er", it's "kin-der" or translated from German "children" or think of "kindergarten" (children's garden).

I also go crazy for candy corn every Halloween, but it's not as interesting a story.

That's a clever concept. Never have seen toys inside chocolate eggs before. I can understand why they are illegal in some countries.

I like the old fashioned plain Haribo Gold Bears

For chocolate I love a lot but will post the Lindt Chili Dark Chocolate

Lately I've taken a liking to these delicious chocolates! gooof

I keep them in the fridge so they are icy cold! kfhkh

As a kid I used to love Tobler candy bars. Now the only Tobler I can find is the Toblerone and while it is tasty, it is nowhere near my favorite. Lindt seems to have become the top selling Swiss chocolate at least in the US. I like some of the Lindt chocolate as well but I do miss my favorite Tobler bars - and what sucks is I can no longer remember the names of the two that were my favorites. I think one was called Noisetta but not sure how clouded that memory might be.

I went vegan and don't eat candy

cavern 10th January 2018 05:09 PM

Any liquor filled chocolate candy is fine with me.

memristor 10th January 2018 05:11 PM

I dont eat candy.

The occassional chocolate, but no chocolate can beat raw cacao beans.

Somehow the very delicate and rich flavour is distroyed during the process of cacao powder and chocolate making.

I had forgotten those candies existed. It's been a couple of decades since I last had one. Not sure if they are legal in the USA.

There's a show about making Moonshine on television and they made Apple stack cakes with a little moonshine to give it that extra flavor. gooof

The milk chocolate ones with Brandy in them are delicious. Can't remember the name off hand but there's about 1/8 of an ounce of Brady in them.
You usually only see them around the holidays and specialty shops.

memristor 11th January 2018 11:26 AM

Quite common here, a pretty common brand is this
Mon Cheri - Wikipedia

But there are better ones, chocolates from Lindt for instance.

memristor 11th January 2018 03:11 PM

Do you have these in the US
Chocolate-coated marshmallow treats - Wikipedia
?

Technically, I think the article is wrong and it's not like marsh mallows, it's just sugared egg white foam. Very soft.

They were called "Negroes Kiss" here and elsewhere for decades, then they changed that to "chocolate kiss" to be pc, even though there is hardly any chocolate in these, just a paper thin coating.

memristor 11th January 2018 03:55 PM

When I was a kid, some places like some kiosks would sell these squashed in a bun.
So weird.
I don't know if this is still the case.

Those remind me of Moon Pies, they toss them to the crowds during the Mardi Gras parades! rockout

i tend to be quite fond of Haribo Gold gummie bears, but if i can't find that, i will settle for the candy that happens to have sugar in it. ;)

If i enjoy a cup of sugar with a little coffee in it, does that count as candy?

memristor 12th January 2018 11:22 PM

I used to drink coffe like that, but not anymore, I have a distaste for sugar in coffe now.

These days my favourite candy besides of raw cacao beans would be beef jerkey.

I actually dislike real coffee, get my caffeine from cola drinks.

Why not Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy":

BarcelonaMusic 14th January 2018 06:35 AM

Oh hell, I should have taken a picture of the giant smores we made over the fire last night. I`ll probably do it again tomorrow.

Synth Guru 14th January 2019 03:06 AM

Well it's not really a candy but for the past 3 years I've taken a huge fancy in peppermint flavored mints! gooof

I've always liked them when I was growing up, but now I chew them throughout the day.

These three brands are my all time favorites. :cowbell:kfhkhrockout

The last time I went to the movie theater, I had a bag of Sour Patch Kids. It has rapidly become one of my favorites.

Used to be a huge candy fan, but once I started adding more and more fruit into my diet I slowly removed the processed sugars. It's hard to find a candy that can match a nice mature mango for instance. You can't replicate something as perfect as a tree ripe fruit...the flavour and the sweetness are off the charts, and you don't have to count calories either. I do however eat some dark chocolate every once in a while, but other than that I'm all in for fresh fruits.freshflowe

Synth Guru 4th September 2019 04:02 PM

As much as I love candy, I limit the sugar intake due to borderline pre-diabetes type II. Fruits of course are much healthier.kfhkh
