Who owns a gun?

Just watching this thread:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/rap-hip-hop-engineering-and-production/105321-gangs-studio.html

Wondering who here owns a gun?
What gun/guns do you have?
Why do you have them?
Do you keep them in the studio?

uptheoctave 24th January 2007 12:44 AM

No-one?

since last year, guns are a 'no-no' in san francisco. so.. no. ;)

rickrock305 31st January 2007 05:22 PM

Yes, i have two.

One is an HK USP compact .45 that stays concealed on my hip (yes i lawfully carry at all times),

How much did that springfield hit you for? Very compact and I like the safeties. I wish I had got the HK P2000...slightly smaller. I got to get a better holster. I got the plastic belt holster...too bulky.

Goliath|Audio 31st January 2007 10:50 PM

5 shot .410 semi auto shotgun. Yes, it is in the studio.

it was $600 I believe, brand new. came with a sh*tty plastic holster, a mag loader, and two mags, one's a 10 round and the other's a 16 round high cap mag.

as for a holster for the HK, try out the Comptac CTAC. Its an inside the waistband holster and conceals very well.

Ruger 10/.22
Browning Buck Mark .22 Semi-auto pisol with red-dot scope
Springfield 1911 .45

I don't carry because I don't feel the need to... But I go to the range regularly. If I had more time, I wish I could join a league or something and do some competition shooting. Next on my purchase list is a really nice bolt-action rifle with some balls to it.

Tell us about your home invasions.

Big 3rd 10th February 2007 06:02 AM

Knock on wood...I haven't had any. I'd be crushed if I did and wasn't there to take care of the situation. jkthtyrt

But just in case I was, the desert eagle 50 cal would be the gun of choice. Overkill? You damn right. My BIGGEST petpeeve byfar, is a thief. I can't stand em. Someone actually with the enough balls to take my **** that I worked hard for... has got to go....FOREVER.

rickrock305 10th February 2007 06:56 AM

shotgun is your best bet for home defense. get yourself a mossberg if you want to put a quick end to a thief.

that .50 is one HUGE cartridge. There was an old cat at the range the other day shooting a .454 Casull. CRAZY, can bring down a full grown bear with a handgun.

picksail 10th February 2007 07:53 AM

SIG SAUER P228 9mm

Improv 10th February 2007 12:08 PM

Bit my tongue so far but it's killing me... and aw hell I've had a couple and it's quite late, so....

Am I the only one left in this world who would rather lose some stuff I bought than kill someone?

Done now. Please ignore me. My bad. I know. Had to be done tho...

hooppie

Nice guns! kfhkh

nah, your not the only one. but its not really about losing the stuff, its the principle of some a**hole invading your home, your most personal space. So yes, I wouldn't mind killing people like that. I figure I'm doing the world a favor. Same thing with smeone who would try to rob me or do me harm on the street, I'm not going easy.

I have judiciously refrained from replying thus far. :-)
But seeing as I started the thread...

I am pretty anti-gun, except if you are a farmer, and anti-violence full stop.
I won't judge anyone- who am I to judge anyway- but I have just moved to the US and it looks like we will stay.
In Switzerland, UK and Aus I never needed a gun and would never have thought of having one.
Here... probably the same.

People tend not to steal from big blokes covered in tattoo's anyway- and I live in the countryside. :-)

Amen.

Look...I probably would be a reck if I killed a human being but if it's between me and him/her, buddy, they're going down in a major way. Now if I were sleep and I hear noises coming from my driveway, wake up and find an asshole messing around in my car...I'll shoot in the air to scare him away or at the worse, shoot him in the leg. I wouldn't go for the whole shabang then.

But my home is another thing...I wake up and see an asshole standing over me or my wife, I'm unloading all 8 .50 bullets in his chest and head....bottom line. There probably would be nothing left of him though.grrr Kinda messy.

Rick...man you got to see the fire this muthaf*cka kicks out. It's at least 2 feet long. The kick is similar to a shotgun and the sound....my God! F*cking rediculous.

rickrock305 10th February 2007 08:43 PM

the Alaskan .454 Casull...some SERIOUS kick on this one.
