Hey guys one of my engineers here in Nashville took some photos last week. Place is starting to come together and sounds great. Things are starting to pick up, lots of calls and gigs. The room is smaller then Raleigh but sounds better. Also I feel like I am more focused here in Nashville. The last 6 months in NC I was pretty checked out mentally, ready to jump back in the fire. Kind of retooling some of my skill set for the market out here. Living here in this time reminds me a little of Hollywood in the 80's, a lot going on, tons of music and everyone is into it. Really exciting. I just wanted to thank Jules, Scott and everyone here on gearslutz for helping me with the relocation and support. It was a bold move with 2 little kids and no family out here but ultimately I think it was the right decision. I was dying professionally and creatively where I was. This is kind of a happy medium between LA and Raleigh.

Looks a really great space! Congratulations. I spy some great gear in there and what a gat collection! I have always thought of Nashville as THE place to go if you want to work with other people who want to work in music. Good luck to you and your family.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm really loving the new setup and my mixing is getting better. It's like I feel like I'm coming into my own. Nashville is a cool town. Sometimes it makes me sad for LA a little though. But I think as time passes I will settle in and feel more part of.

I've been going out a few nights a week to see music. The sheer level of visible talent here is staggering. Like nothing I've ever seen. It's like the real talent in LA aren't playing in clubs. Where here everyone gigs all the time. There has to be 100 shows every night. 7 days a week. Crazy.

Looking good James! I think you did awesome with your choices of gear to keep! Glad to see you kept the API2500 and the PCM42. Two of my all time favs.

Nashville is Mecca right now for music. LA used to be but so much music there is done these days with a writer, a laptop, and samples that musicians seem to be almost a dying breed. Nashville seems to me to be where the serious players are still playing. I haven't been there in a few years but the last time I was there I went to a bunch of open mic/jam sessions that had some very serious cats hosting them! Enjoy it! Seattle used to be somewhat like that too but Grunge killed it!
