Nuendo has components for editing audio in video, that is, editing audio in movies & other film. It is Cubase + movie stuff. Does S1 V. 5 do that?

no....S1 is seriously lagging in video scoring department.

Not really a fair comparison, for me personally, Cubase Pro 10.5 is streets ahead of Studio 1 and Nuendo is streets ahead of Cubase with all it's video editing features and superior automation, DCA groups etc.

Which puts Nuendo 10 in a different league altogether to Studio 1 (and Cubase) and is priced accordingly.

im really looking for something to replace pro tools and studio one. Nuendo seems like the only full featured all in one option.

That's not the market they are going for.

Having had both cubase and Nuendo over the years.. they are catching both programs closer to parity.. This round they are pretty much feature for feature. Over the years cubase tended to get features first. then once stable they would migrate over to nuendo. So this is good news Nuendo would be way more appropriate for a protools replacement. As said above.. Nuendo has the higher end mixing and mastering features that cubase lacks. Also if you need a mixing desk look into nuage. It is the hardware part of cubase/nuendo for a integrated mixing desk. Not cheap but.. very good and seem-less.
