Studio One Stability - PC vs Mac

I run S1 on my Imac and get constant crashes. So much so, that I have been thinking of going back to Logic, but I love Studio One. So, I'm just wondering if Studio One is more stable on the PC? More and More I'm thinking about leaving Apple.

It really depends on workflow. Maybe describe a bit of your workflow and exact specs and which 3rd party plugins are involved. Do you use AU or VST plugins?

S1 on Mac is very stable for me. Any time I have ever crashed (which is very rare) I have traced it to a 3rd party plugin being at fault.

I'm running Studio One on an i9 Hackintosh and a MacBook Pro and it's as smooth as silk, so no problems here. Before the Hack I had it on my Late 2013 27" iMac and it was good as gold.

It would be awesome to hear some extra details about your system and how you're using it.

I use both. PC is more stable 100%. This has been the case for years.

Using AU, it crashes a lot, using VST, no problems.

I think this is the key, and reflects my experience too. Their VST support is more robust than AU. I usually stick with VST in Ableton as well.
