Need V-Drums Help

I recently restored my Roland TD-9 kit back to factory settings and everything is mapped correctly into Steven Slate SSD5. I now have to figure out why the kit sounds loose and does not allow for quick and tight articulation and dynamics when using SSD5 such as rolls on the toms and HiHat. It does allow them on the snare. There is also a slight latency issue when listening to live audio of the kit coming back to me. I'm going to have to possibly tweak SSD5, Studio One 4.5 Pro audio interface settings and my Focusrite Pro 40 interface settings. In that order I guess, I'm not sure. The TD-9 when played by itself though, sounds, plays and feels better than every.
