Nular - Finger Drumming Videos

Hi all!

After over 3 years of practicing finger drumming, I started recording some live performance videos. I hope some of you find these enjoyable/interesting. If you have any questions regarding these, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks,
Nular

Nice job!

Sounds like all your hard work has paid off

I liked the D&B groove

Pretty cool! How do you remember what they are? Are your kits pretty similar layout wise?

And are some samples rolls/breaks, or are the all one-hits?

Well done!

Thanks!

I've been using the same drum layout for quite a while:

C T C C
OH R R OH
CH T T CH
K S S K

K - kick
S - snare
CH - closed hihat
OH - open hihat
T - tom
R - ride cymbal
C - crash/china cymbal

They're all one-hits, no fancy stuff like rolls or flams.

In some videos I layer other instruments or samples on some of the pads. Those tend to be single notes or chords.

Awesome thank you for sharing! I have a padkontrol that I use for basic ideas / input but I always have to clean up in daw. I might try out those layouts, since I donโ€™t have a preference currently

Youโ€™re really killing it as an art form, nice work!

Thank you for your feedback, it means a lot!

Sounds like a great plan, let me know how you get on with it! But keep in mind this pad layout is no silver bullet, it's just the one that happens to work well for me; your ideal layout might be different.

That's some crazy impressive technique.

I loved 'Cyclomatic Complexity' where we can actually see what you're doing. Brilliant and original stuff!

Thanks a lot for watching and your feedback!

I thought my more Launchpad focused videos were more informative as it's easier to see which pads I'm hitting. Anyway, I'll keep this in mind and make more videos where my socks are visible. =)

(There's actually another similar video on my YouTube page, but I didn't post it here as the music is metal, so it didn't really qualify as 'Electronic Music')

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I checked out some of your tracks, really good stuff, some very tasty synth sounds! Would you be interested in some kind of collaboration? I could record some drums with a more live feel for your music, but if that's not your thing that's perfectly understandable.

If I wasn't watching you do it, I'd say this was a live drummer. Very cool!
