I dunno over the long span of time, but, the mix sessions definitely go somewhere. Last year I did a movie where an evil ghost possesses the main characters and changes their voice, and in my M&E notes I wrote, in so many words, "this and this delay and pitch-shifting will create the effect, also refer to the processing buss on the 'Monster' tracks in my dialogue final mix session."

I emailed the notes off to the distributor with the intention of delivering the mix session the week following on the big drive. But lo and behold, two days later, I get an email chain from my client's head of post-production where a bunch of people at Universal are asking "Can you find Jamie's session? Did he send it? Where is it?! International needs it for the foreign monster voices!" So I know somebody is reading those notes and the mix sessions are going somewhere.
