Just an update to this old thread:
My Jeff Hedback designed, Clarity created, Bill Weir monitor equipped mix studio continues to be a workshop where I turn out mixes that people like.
#1 and
#9 positions in Billboard's Gospel chart recently and a batch of well reviewed roots, Blues, and Americana records have made for a good 2015.
Gear seller Mark Perullo found me a cute rebuilt pair of Auratones of late 1980s vintage and Chip at Coleman Music found me a Carver amp to drive them. My MCI JH-618 desk has switching for Main and Alt monitors only, so I added a little passive balanced switch to let me select whether to feed the amp for the NS-10s, the amp for the Auratones, or some sort of guest pair.
Auratone is still in business by the way, and now located in Nashville.
Best wishes for your own projects!
