Hi Matt

Logging in for this build. It looks like an ideal space (+ it's big). I'm interested to how you'll treat the topside (roof/ceiling) and what's going in the guts. All of the above basically.

All the best for this build. And for the sleepless nights ahead.

cheers
Ben

The tin roof is about to get pulled off soon and replaced with double-plywood/shingles (lots of daylight showing through and we have bad leaks right now). Under that will be insulation, another layer of plywood, more insulation, sheetrock, and then the interior ceiling either hung resiliently from the support structure, or if it can't handle that much weight, built as part of the frame from below.

THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS NO LONGER RELEVANT DUE TO DESIGN CHANGES

You have to try and make those arches an element in the studio. That would look so amazing and it could be your "thing" heh

(I'm posting this much after the fact after going back and re-reading the thread) Funny, the historic tax credit agency actually requested we keep them visible, at least when you are in the warehouse/load-in area of the studio. Makes for some annoying design changes, but should look really cool and will give us a bunch of money back when/if we qualify.

How about copying them? That would cost a lot though.

This thread is a good contender for "next drooling subject after Manifold and the Bridge". Good luck !

Matt, do you have a floor plan yet? That's a good bit of room to work with. That area is cool and growth seems to be nearby. Wishing you well. heh

Yeah, we have a floorplan, I can't in good faith post it publicly but I'm happy to answer any specific questions you have!

Na...just wondering what the finished layout would look like. What room are would be where. Nothing detailed. I just got. Took the family down for Fat Tuesday. I miss "home" sometime. heh

That's what musicians will say when you finish the studio! Where are you at in New Orleans?

EDIT: The answer is in the opening post:

"Irish Channel neighborhood of uptown New Orleans"

Nice!

Just uploaded a bunch of new pictures of the office renovation. Kinda boring for all you audio guys. It does include our initial client lounge areas. Interested parties who are logged into Facebook may go here:
