He's too busy twisting Katherine's knobs to read the Internets.

(You should name your desk Katherine?)

Here for the gear

What a fantastic ride!

And I'm back on page 34, working through every page.
I was involved in a ground - up build out of a 7 studio, 30,000 square foot recording and educational facility in Florida back in the late 80's, and this is bringing back MANY fond memories!
There truly is no cooler place on a earth than a recording studio under construction, and then being finished and rolling tape! We had one of the first Neve "flying faders" incarnations, I believe.
Really, really, REALLY outstanding work, all!!!

Ok. Back to page 34 and July of 2011. I just wanted to give some "modern" props as I'm going through it.

Andy,

That console is a work of art! You've done a fantastic job of aiming high and then hitting the target. Bravo!

Hey Steve

Hi Steve

Thanks for your comments mate- means a lot to have new people checking the build out -

You'll know from your own experience mate that its a lot of work- stress - money more money more money and more money again - I'm absolutely convinced you would spend and keep on spending until the last dollar was gone on the entire planet :-) !!!!!

You know what I mean :-)

It's getting there - the console is a remarkable piece of kit - but the room we have built is an amazing space and I class this as a piece of gear - it's as good as the desk - that's all I can say- it is a remarkable achievement the mix space we have built - lets face it this **** matters - more than any other piece of kit -just my opinion - but lots of people forget that -

Cheers mate talk soon -

Best

Andy

Hey bro good to hear from you

Oh yes - very very true - the Duality is what it is - a throw away piece of kit after 3-5 years of use !!!!

To think I nearly bought that :-( Bad news mate - really bad news !

The 9000k is a fantastic console awesome sounding piece of kit and made to high specs - the build quality is bomb proof i'm afraid they don't make them like they used to :-) I'm pretty sure the Duality is made in China and assembled in the UK - my opinion a throw away piece of kit :-( Not worth the money -

You did right mate to get rid !!

Glad you like the Neve :-) :-)

Hope your well and busy !!!

Best as always !!!

Andy

My pleasure

You maybe right on the Duality comments

To be honest I couldn't give a crap what they think or anybody else thinks :-)

Fact is I thought the Neve a better long term investment despite being many times the cost - the Neve is unparalleled in function and form to anything on the market.

Cheers for looking mate we appreciate it :-)

Hahaha! My goodness me. I never imagined the studio would be so bloody good when the thread originally started.
Best of luck lads, and although I'm sure the big money will come from the visual industry, I hope you guys have a hand in rejuvenating the music + studio scene in and around Liverpool.
Incredible!
