The concrete slab is poured on top of a dpm layer that is in turn on top of a layer of 100mm RW9 rockwool. The slab is therefore floating independently from the walls which are in turn de-coupled from the sub floor.

Hope that answers your concernes?

We have followed the RA plan to the letter.

Thanks mate...no concerns at all for me, was just wondering.
Did RA calculate the highest frequency your floors will be resonating at?
Will enjoy looking through the thread a bit more when I catch some time...

Hi

Thanks for your interest in our build it's very much appreciated.

Can I say that although guys on here and rightly so like to know all facts and figures of builds such as ours - namely and not limited to frequency curves, bass end extention - top frequency reflections- bla bla bla we won't be talking about it or divulging any infomation about it that's relative to our build.

This room is a WORLD CLASS design and being a WORLD CLASS room every last detail and calculation has been evaluated.

We work with RA and I trusted my investment which has been considerable ( no lottery win - no inheritance - just solid graft ) with Roger at RA.

On the design in my humble opinion RA obliterate (d) the competition.

Their history and recommendations prove it.

If people want graphs of curves and all of that then they won't find me or Greg talking about it

Why would we need to ???

We know what we have- we know all bases are covered .... Literally

Thanks for you lookin mate

Andy

I noticed large, countersunk screw holes in all that beautiful trim. I assume they'll be filled with bungs? Curious as to the logic of that vs. finish nails.

Yes they will all be pelleted with walnut pellets.

Some of the fixings are into block, some are into plasterboard and some are into steel joists.

Just to let you all know, we won't be posting any more pics from now on. Now that we are on the home straight we want to keep our cards close to our chests! You will have to wait till we are completely finished to see the final pics! Hope you understand!

No more photos until we finish fellas

Hi

We took a decision today to stop posting photos of our build on here.

The thread will still be open and we'll still be posting written updates.

We feel that posting the finished article in all its glory will be far more beneficial to all than posting pictures of plasterboard walls going up and doors getting hung and glazed everyday..

We'd like to thank all of you for checking in and taking the time to post, showing keen interest in what we ae doing and being cool guys to boot.

The next photos you'll see will be the professional photos taken for our opening ..

Cheers

catch up

Hi

just thought I'd let you know that things are coming along nicely

Graham's making the last 2 new doors for the booth and new live room get in.....

Lots of nice Walnut arrived for skirts - we fitted heating radiators today in reception, link corridor and chill out......

The solid ash slats forming part of the acoustic treatment were machined and are ready to be fitted.

Black solid core MDF was delivered into our CNC guys in Liverpool to manufacture the diffusers.....

Glass delivered for doors last week also........

Another 400metres of audio cable was delivered in..... that totals 800metres and there only 7 metre runs from the machine room to the main control room .......

An unbelievable amount of cable to be honest that's costs a small fortune ;-(

Just thought I'd update you fellas

Cheers

It's in the factory having the stem mixer added to it. It's a big upgrade, they have had to re wire the patch, fit new backplanes and manufacture new channel strips! Not to mention add the extra copper buss bars!

It will be ready in a few weeks.
