Has anyone used one?
I'm not being funny, why not just concentrate on getting everything finished and opening? I know while the joiners and other construction folks are doing their thing there's a bit of kicking your heels and it's nice to get excited about gear but are you not at saturation point now? It's not like having or not having a Quantec is going to impact on your appeal at all - is anyone going to ignore the M7, 480, 960 & 6000 and go somewhere else that has a Quantec?

Would it affect appeal? No.

Do I still want one? Yes, if they are that good!

Would buying one delay the build? No as it would only take a few minutes to order one and send the money.

Are we concentrating on getting finished as soon as possible? No, we are concentrating on everything being as good as we can possible make it before we do open. As Clueless knows, Rome wasnt built in a day, and it's worth taking your time and strive towards perfection.

Thanks for that reply Clueless! I really hope I get to come see your AMAZING facility in person sometime and if your ever over this side of the pond please please please come visit us!

Like?

As our market is mainly going to be mixing large surround projects that have been tracked at much bigger facilities we dont want to be spending massive money on loads of mics but I agree that you can never have enough mics.............

I don't normally post like this, but I felt the need to.

Greg isn't turning up to the studio each day just to take pictures and 'kick his heels'. If you think that, you're incredibly naive.

He's overseeing every single element of this build from first thing in the morning to late evening. He has also masterminded the electrical infrastructure of this build with an incredible sense of forethought and process.

He's trying to make this facility the best in the country, and you can't help but admire that.

I just thought your mic list was missing some nice vintage stuff, Y'know that killer U47, C12 or pair of U67's..pair of M49's..Fet47, coles.. I can recommend those Lucas mics, they are stunning..I have pair of their CS1's.

When we open we can properly audition the vintage mics, as you know vintage mic's can be a minefield!

Andy seems keen to buy some Bees Neez microphones.

Ill have a gander at the Lucas.

Total class

Clueless is a classic geezer

And this is a classic answer to the question in hand......

Having amazing gear doesn't make you a better engineer but having a choice of world class equipment can only aid the engineer in striving for that perfect mix....

Buying gear for me isn't just some random process it's a serious matter, I have been buying gear since the age of 18 and every purchase is as important as the first.....

Nothing is wasted.......

If this reverb unit in question is jaw droopingly gorgeous and it creates a space like no other and we can give an engineer another tool to work with then it's worth considering.....

End of

Andy
