Sequoia will open two instances - Wavelab should be able to do this as well...

Regarding Classé and B&W - we use this combo - in our room they match perfect and did not break our budget.

how do you find the attack speed on your phoenix?
i have the faster attack/release card fitted in mine but it's still not as fast as the mastering version
also i remember you mentioning the oram HD EQ2 in a thread a while ago
did you ever have a chance to check one out
have been offered one but can't hear it and not finding too much info on it

AFAIC, plastic is a BIG no/no.

Diffusion tends to be oversimplified a lot lately it seems.
Any scientific explanation and research on that or just give a link or two please!

Here is a quick question (hopefully) and with out trying to derail the thread:
If you where going to do surround sound mastering/mixing would you need to also have diffusers at the front to break up the sound coming from the rear speakers?

Place looks Great!

I went to the opening yesterday and yes it is a great place, simple, stylish and beautiful. Darius has established his carreer in a realatively short period and someone who starts his own operation investing in building and gear we wish well!
Good luck and good business.!

I also have a question about the diffusion in the room.

What is the freqnency range the backwall diffusors work in??
The wells look like the are minimum 8cm wide or more, what gives me a very low freqency for the max diffusion of the high freqencys!?
but maybe it`s not a typical skyline!??

I hope Thomas can help me with this.

Cheers

Design frequency range is F(~500Hz-3200Hz)

Max efficiency range is F(~580Hz-3000Hz)

The wells ar not as wide as you think

@ 5.1 question: it's not an issue, especially for "music" 5.1. Although a purely 5.1 designed room would indeed be slightly different, but not as good for stereo. It's all a question of priorities... But I can tell you this room would for sure rock in 5.1, no question.

For movie mixing in surround the whole room concept is different.

@ NLP: material density vs frequency/efficiency problems and re-emission problems are the reason why not all materials are suitable for a proper diffusor. I don't know of any internet site going in the detail of that.

Hi Darius, I just read through the whole thread and it's really amazing what you and the crew did. Congrats! I'm currently studying at SAE Amsterdam and we had our lessons on acoustics last week, so it was really interesting reading up on your story.

And I just realised I live about 5 minutes from the place!!
