Kids can do all kind of stupid things. Not long ago some kids were hospitalized for 'Wasping' a new trend in which kids are inhaling the fumes of wasp killer!

Humans have always sought to alter their consciousness through intoxication (and music); factual information and unadulterated materials are necessary for safe use.
Cannabinoids have been around a lot longer than humans; even animals and plants have specific receptors. Cannabis was not an issue on the British Isles until early 70's when it was criminalised; all the problems started then.

I think a small % of the population have a genetic contraindication for cannabis use; like an allergy. It is likely these individuals had ancestors who evolved in a cannabis-less environment.

It might help if you ever get a wasp stuck up your nose. You can't discount that...

Try a bullet ant! I hear you can actually buy one, specially in a small plastic test tube. Someone had a colony of those in Texas.

Worst sting...ever. I'm in Australia so have no idea what it feels like but we have "blue ant" wingless wasps and boy do they hurt quite a lot - been stung 3 times.

Michael phelps is a bad example. He has some weird genetic thing where it's like he has natural EPO. Also swimming, running, etc are dumb sports that require almost no skill, it's all about horsepower. But take the diaz brothers or mike tyson, and they have fought and won stoned. Nick Diaz had 6 times the allowed limit when he fought a guy named gomi, and finished him with a crazy rare and creative submission called a "gogoplata"

BTW, Michael Phelps almost committed suicide, but he is glad he didn't because otherwise he would have been pissed.

Question for the experts. How do you tell when cannabis plants have reached their peak potency and are ready to be harvested?

Asking for a friend.

I used to use a Radio Shack 30x illuminated microscope to look at the THC crystals, and just as they were turning slightly amber was peak potency.

Cool! Great advice! Thank you. I'll let my friend know at once to look for the THC crystals to be turning slightly amber. Awesome. Hopefully a mere magnifying glass of medium-large size will be adequate since I know he doesn't have a Radio Shack 30x illuminated microscope, and isn't going to get one.

They're dirt cheap, like around $10.

LOL! I am so out of it. I still have the idea that a microscope is a bulky device for looking at amoeba in science classes. I think I can bust out the ten bucks for that. I might even have a few other uses for it. Thanks, man.

Apologies if I'm taking this conversation off track, but it does relate to those that partake in gunja/dope/weed/mary jane/spliffs/grandmas apricot jam/etc... (please feel welcome to add to the list.

Well, it hasn't happen to me yet, but in the state of Victoria Australia, if you get pulled over by the Cops, they can subject you to a "breathalyzer" to check if you have had too much alcohol (0.05) is the limit here. This is fair enough. I don't want drunk people hurtling down the road at great speed

Also, they have the "lolly pop stick" to test if you are on other drugs. Mostly for ICE etc.

Fair call too. I don't want anybody sailing down the road at great speed in an armchair on wheels off their face. No sirrr...eeee!!!

However, it has come to my attention that, for example, I smoked a joint at a party on the weekend, then got pulled over on a Wednesday and did the lollypop test, there is every chance that THC will be detected, and a severe loss of driving license for 6 months could apply. WTF???!!!

According to the law here:

I use a similar device (field microscope); highly-recommended for education and quality-control.

Here for the gear

For me, weed adds an entire new dimension to music, like going from 2-D to 3-D. For music recorded with modern techniques, I generally only hear sounds coming from three locations: the left speaker, the right speaker, and a sort of ambiguous point in the middle when a sound is playing through both speakers. There's a sort of muddled area in between when a sound is somewhat louder in one speaker than another, but generally it's only coming from one of the three spots. With weed, the location of sounds expands to an entire three dimensional sphere around me. Think of it like this. In a concert setting, you can hear each individual instrument coming from a certain location relative to you. Weed basically makes it so that a simple recording with three locations for instruments is now expanded to an entire room around me where an instrument might be. Sober, I'll hear a drum fill kind of pan left to right, then a few notes from the bass on the right and a voice singing lead somewhere in the middle. But with weed, that drum fill pans around the back of my head, triggering a bass note from somewhere far to the right, while the lead sings from in front of me and sort of up and to the left, and a guitar riff gently falls from the upper right and moves in closer to me. I hear these instruments interacting with each other in the mix like they're setting each other off, one sounds indicates that it's time for another sound to start. It makes many songs have these sort of swells and triggers that normally don't notice sober.
Along with this, I'm able to hear individual components of a song much clearer. Listening to The Beatles, I can easily pick out each harmony in the chorus of Nowhere Man, all the tiny fluctuations and imperfections in each voice. When things get quiet, I notice tiny details like creaks and muttering in the background that weren't meant to be recorded. It makes learning a guitar part so much easier because I can easily focus in on just the guitar and leave everything else out. /
I`m also curious why does marijuana affect orgasm. I've heard of this phenomenon where smoking weed will make you more horny and enjoy being touched even more than usual... but then at the same time, make it more difficult to reach climax. I've also heard this is more of a problem for women who have to really focus to reach climax to begin with. I'm curious if anyone in this thread has any insight or experiences worth sharing on the topic.

The way you describe weed sounds like you just started last weekend...

Perhaps you should try it, maybe it would turn you into a somewhat pleasant person. Though that would be asking a lot of it.

I've been getting more into edibles lately. You just have to learn your dose, and timing.

For me: 10 milligrams (an hour prior) works out great for a 2 to 3 hour workout. Or a concert.

5 mg every few hours works out fine for most situations with minimal cognizant interruption and/or social anxieties. In fact I find myself becoming more sociable.

And no need to stop for vape breaks.

I stick to only using the flower, as you have more control over content-related variables (various types of THC, CBD, etc) and amount of intake, but I hear people complain about vapes, that they get tired or lazy. Find vapes/edibles that strictly stay to the specific strain of indica or sativa, but often you have no control over whether or not the producer uses a mix of all the leftovers from various strains to give you a higher thc content, but ultimately a messy high (terpenoids resulting from inferior extraction practices) that either pulls your brain in different directions and drags you down or gives you a boring unproductive high.

This is info from a medical company (not intended as promotion):

As per Matt's post above: maybe different combinations or strains are better-suited to particular music styles/genres or production tasks?

I don't smoke as much anymore. But I really do like it sometimes. I do prefer just home-grown.

I haven't smoked it for about a month and I really do miss it. I don't smoke a lot, maybe every 2-3 days, maybe just a small spliff. I find without it I drink more alcohol. Not bad but not the same effect for sure

I find that with a bit of choof, it just gets me over the edge where I feel positive. Not too much where you are absolutely off your face and paranoid (done that) but just a bit helps me feel positive and I get more done.

[EDIT]
When I say "I get more done" that doesn't mean just with music stuff. I mean generally overall with my life. My outlook is usually very negative. A bit of "Grandmas Apricot Jam" makes me feel more positive. What's wrong with that?

If I went to my Doctor and said I was a bit down/depressed, then I'm sure that I could be prescribed some concocted manufactured drug. Well, get f*cked. I'd rather smoke a bit of natural weed - a plant - that is grown on this earth naturally.

Ya know?

I've done Heroin, Speed, Cocain, LSD, Ecstacy, probably some others. The worst and hardest to get off is Nicotine. Yet that is legal. I wish I didn't smoke cigarettes.
