How to load 3rd party drum samples into Samplitude Music Studio 2016?

Hi. I've download some drum sounds (samples in wav format) of some old drum machines like the Alesis SR-16 - how do I load them into Samplitude so that I can use them to create drum tracks in the midi editor? This is not the same as installing a VSTi plugin, right? I simply want to use the individual drum sounds on the track. Is there an option to import wav file drum sounds?

You need a sampler plug in.
If you just import the wavs into Samplitude you'd have to use the arrangement view to sequence them instead of the midi editor. It's the same for pretty much every daw.
