Description

The OB-X was the first of the Oberheim synths, available in 4, 6 or 8 voices. It offers 2 VCOs per voice, one LFO, and one 2 pole lowpass filter with ADSR envelope. Also there is one VCA with an envelope for the volume. There is a polyphonic S&H. The synth has 32 memory patches. It offers CV-Gate control on voice 1 only.

Troubleshooting OB-X

I did recap the unit, both tants and electrolytics; the only tants I replaced with electrolytics were ones in series with the audio signal. Otherwise I replaced tants with tants as they are much better at filtering digital noise on the rails than electros. As for replacing every CMOS chip, why? There is one very specific...
