Balanced or unbalanced patch cable to DI?

I'm putting together a playback rig for live use. It includes 2 audio interfaces, 2 macbook pros and a radial AutoswitchingDI to switch between the 2 computers in case of failure.

I need to know what kind of patch cables I should use going out of the audio interface into the autoswitcher/DI?

The audio interfaces can send balanced and unbalanced and the autoswitcher/DI can receive balanced or unbalanced..

Well if they can both use balanced, I'd do that.

Since they can both use unbalanced it probably doesn't matter, but a balanced setup will reject the (probably very tiny) amount of noise that you could pick up in the cables.
