CD and/or digital distribution

I've finally got some tunes ready and was thinking of putting them up on Addictech. However I was keen on doing a number of physical CDs as well, perhaps via a site like CD Baby.

CD Baby seems to take care of the whole lot, including generation of a UPC bar code.

If I wanted distribution via CD Baby AND Addictech (for example), do I:
* Just arrange these independently and all will be hunkydory
* Do it through one or the other first
* try to avoid going through more than one distributor

I ask because if CD Baby is creating special stuff for a release...(like bar codes??) maybe this classes it as a particular item and other distributors need to recognise that? Sorry this is just a stray thought. I'm a noob here.

Secondly, given it is ok to use multiple distributors (is it?) are there any other considerations? Do any have any clauses about exclusivity or whatever?

Sorry for being vague - any answers here are appreciated, or even just links to informative pages. Thanks.
