Duet 2 with DBX 166 comp and mixer or??

Hey Guys and Girls,

Looking for a bit of advice here but it could be a no brainer.

To record some vocals I would like to use my DBX 166 compressor as an insert through a yamaha mixer then into my Duet 2.

I know that the compressor is not the greatest in the world so I would like to know if I would be better off recording directly into the Duet 2 (and then apply compression once its recorded).

Will the compressor and mixer add noise or impair the signal?

Cheers
