What sample rate/bit depth to bounce to?

Ok, I'm sure this has been asked before but I did search and can't find a thread that's spot on.

I record at 48/24. I bounce at 48/24. But CD quality is 44.1/16. I know that I can burn a cd from what I bounced at 48/24 but they don't always play in every player and I'm guessing this is why.

So does it change with the situation or am I always supposed to bounce my mixes at 44.1/16?

Do I bounce at 48/24 if its going to another studio or to mastering?

Bounce at the session quality let the mastering engineers do the dithering down. Put a dithering plugin in your master bus channel at 48/24 even though you aren't changing rate. This is just good practice and helps you loose that artifacting in your mix. That way your master will be at 48/24 for mp3 or AAC creation but can be dithered down to 44/16 for cd.
