HELP. New or Used interface?

To keep it short, I was thinking about buying the MOTU M2 next week.

But I found interfaces with more features in the same price range with used gear at GC

I can buy:

MOTU M2 -- NEW

MOTU UltraLite MK3 -- USED

Presonus 1818VSL -- USED

MOTU Audio Express 6x6 -- USED

MOTU 896hd -- USED

What will you buy and why?

I only need 2 - 4 preamps, a good headphone output and good quality overall.

If you need 4 preamps only one on your list does that correct? However, read ALL the reviews here: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...818vsl/reviews. It sounds problematic to me.

I don't need 4, would be great to have 4 haha.

But I only need 2

I have bought most of my interfaces used off of eBay. I currently run a MOTU 16a and Apogee Ensemble, both of which I purchased used. No reason to pay new prices for the interface— the most rapidly depreciating piece of gear in your studio, typically. (If you buy off eBay you have generous buyer protection in case there’s a problem with the unit.)

Well, I only need 2, 4 would be good, but I only need 2 for stereo instruments, nothing more.

My priorities are:

Audio Quality (DAC) - Preamp Quality - Latency - Instrument Line (Guitar)

Things I don't really need for the moment:
More than 2 preamps.
Expansions for external preamps
More than 1 monitor output
Other features

Will I see an improvement on the audio (played and recorded) through a more expensive (But used AKA old) interface?

Thanks! I haven't looked at eBay. I fear the worst there hahah.

But I'll see if I find a good deal there

What used interface do you recommend with a budget of $100 - $160?

If you can make do with 2 inputs, I would try to get an Audient ID14. I’m assuming it’s not too far from that price point (though I haven’t checked). The preamps are great and I still use it all the time even though I have more expensive interfaces.
