Recording keyboards

Would recording a synthesizer direct to a digital mixer (with own soundcard) into a computer produce higher quality recordings compared to recording a synthesizer in to the internal memory card and transfering the files into a computer music program (i.e. Cubase).

All depends on the synth and/or interface.
But I doubt if you would hear any difference.

But a high end digital mixer would have a better quality interface compared to a synthesizer.
I tried recording an electric piano to a memory card and compared to recording direct to a high quality digital mixer the difference is noticeable.

If the source is digital there would be no convertion needed recording on card.
But all depends on source and the way it's saved.

Perhaps you just like the sound the convertion of the digital mixer has.
Choose what ever you like best.
