Unbalanced patchbay with jack balanced gear issue

Hello everybody
I just bought a stereo eq with jack balanced inputs. My patchbay is unbalanced (soundcraft 2400). I have a loss of 7dB (and it saturate too much when i try to compense this loss) when i plug it. Any problem with xlr outboard. So i understand that its a result of the «*jack balanced «* connection.
What solutions would you recommend me? A xlr>unbal jack adaptator before and after the gear will work?
Thanks a lot

When you say Soundcraft 2400, are you referring to the console? I ask as having installed and used two Soundcraft 2400 consoles, the bantam patchbays are most definitely balanced.

Unclear what you are connecting what to what.
Balanced to unbalanced and vise versa should't be a problem (it will be unbalanced).
